I'm tearing down the engine and when I took the heads to be pressure tested, they discovered minor … WebMar 25, 2011 · It seems that the centering pin for the top ring got pushed out and there are 2 big scratch marks on both sides of the piston, one DEEP scratch in the cylinder wall, chunks taken out of the top of the piston, and bits of metal stuck in the cylinder head. It is a four cylinder engine around 17 to 1 compression. it has pre-combustion chambers. The #3 cylinder has pretty good pitting. Its a picture of #3 piston, #1 and #4 look great (no pitting).
